Crane Supervisor

The aim of this course is to provide underpinning knowledge in the supervision of lifting operations including method statements and risk assessments.

Description

The course content is quite substantial and covers the following areas:

  • Regulations
  • Crane Types
  • Duty Charts
  • Method Statements
  • Ground Loadings
  • Slinging Techniques
  • Mat Sizes
  • Risk Assessments

Each course delegate will be expected to complete a written and practical examination which includes supervision of an actual lifting operation. If successful, a certificate will be issued. This will help the Employer to address certain legal requirements by being able to demonstrate employee competency. A detailed course handout is also provided for future reference.

 

Duration

The standard course is intended to last 3 days but for an experienced Crane Supervisor who holds a valid or recently expired certificate, a 2 day refresher can be attended. Bespoke courses can also be discussed upon application.

 

Prerequisites

No prerequisites required.

What participants need to bring

Each participant is required to produce photographic ID on the first day of the course. Failure to do so will result in the participant being unable to attend.

 

  • If this course is held at a Certex UK location, participants will require Safety Footwear.
  • If the course is to be held on a Client’s site, additional PPE may also be required as specified by the Client’s site safety rules.
