"Competence can be described as the combination of training, skills, experience and knowledge that a person has and their ability to apply them to perform a task safely."

They stipulate that a competent person must undertake the necessary training to help acquire and maintain satisfactory competency levels.

This course alone will not deem your employee competent but can be used in conjunction with experience, skills and knowledge to demonstrate overall theoretical and practical competence which can assist you as an Employer to address legal requirements, by contributing to your own assessment of your employee's potential competency.
